INSIDE-OUT - PLANNING A HOME WITH A VIEW
The line between the indoor and the outdoor environment is becoming indefinite.  Whenever designing a new space, always consider its alter ego.  For instance, when designing an interior Great Room, think about the effects it has on the exterior environment of the house.  Design and placement, especially of windows and doors, is huge in featuring or highlighting the outdoor environment.  Take photos from the inside of the home to capture important point of views of the outside.  Hardscape can be placed in the yard, not only for impact and purpose, but also for the view it will provide from the interior of the home.  A room with a view is a better room.

Tips

  1. Be thoughtful to your home and yard when creating an outdoor space.  Work with the environment when creating the space.
  2. Inside/Out: Anything inside can be created outside.
  3. Let the exterior be an extension of your homes décor. Push your walls out!

When designing and planning your back yard, take time to understand how your home interacts with its surroundings.
